You know how they say high school is practice for the real world? Right, okay. So now you know how high school was awful? Yeah, that’s how all of this works. True “friends” are very few and even further in between. Most social circles are largely comprised of what we like to call “frenemies.”

A frenemy is someone you hang out with and you’re mostly nice to them but really the whole point of being in each other’s lives is to have someone to measure your own failures and successes against. Most of the time we don’t even realize that we have frenemies because we’ve tricked ourselves into thinking we like these people and they are our friends.

But nope.

Frenemies.
