It’s the carpet from that one thing! On a shirt!

Yes, you may (and should) recognize this carpet pattern from Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. More recently, American Horror Story: Hotel used a veeeeery similar pattern in a different supernatural hotel, as a sign of respect for Kubrick’s genre masterpiece. (Seriously, if it’s been a while since you’ve watched it or you’ve somehow never seen it, watch that shit. It holds up.)

If you want to go way deeper than any sane person should, watch the documentary, Room 237. It’s a compilation of several wild fan theories surrounding The Shining. One of these theories suggests this pattern is trying to tell us that Stanley Kubrick helped NASA fake the Apollo moon landings.
